If you are cataloging a document that lists a grant number or funding or sponsoring agency, which metadata fields should you use?

dc.description.funder and dc.description.sponsorship both look like good places for this information, so when do you use each?

Here is a rule of thumb: Funder involves money; sponsor involves sponsorship.

A sponsor can be a funder, but doesn't have to be);

A funder does not have to be a sponsor, but can be.
