How to use the Styles pane

 

Windows - Select the Home tab in the ribbon.

Mac - Select the Home tab in the ribbon.

Windows -

Mac -

then

Windows - In the Styles panel, select the small arrow in the bottom-right corner of the panel to separate the window.

Mac - Simply drag the window off of the document to move it where you want it to go.

Windows - Click the Options... link at the bottom of the window. In Select styles to show: use the drop-down to set this to In use and press OK.

Mac - Click the drop-down at the bottom of the window and set the List to Styles in use and check the box for Show styles guide.

Windows -

Mac -

Mac & Windows - To use a particular style, highlight the text and use the name of the style like a button, it will then apply that style to all the text in that section.

Sections Sub Heading - sub headings within your main document sections should use Heading 3 and Heading 4

Sub Heading 3 uses the Heading 4 style.

Use the All Paragraph style.
